Birthday Challenge accepted and done.

It’s been 15 months since I started riding (again). In those months and thousands of miles ridden I’ve had one goal. To ride my age on my birthday.
Today I turned 52 and I rode 55 miles. I know it's not that far but it's the farthest I've been able to ride.I Rode from Mile Marker 100 in Key Largo to Mile Marker 46 on Pigeon key. I stopped at the beginning of the Seven Mile Bridge. It was a good day to ride the keys, 85 degrees, slight tailwind and no rain. The temperature and the dry weather are both unusual for this time of year in South Florida, so I count myself very lucky in that respect. My next challenge is to ride over Seven Mile Bride to Bahia Honda State park (65 Miles) and then to ride the entire length of the keys (108 miles). I’ve got a lot of miles to put on the bike to make those goals but I’m already looking forward to riding up to the challenge. Well done!
I did a birthday ride a few weeks ago myself...58 miles on the New River State Park trail. |
Well done Bob! Sounds like an absolutely great day.

I started my birthday challenge at 50. It's tougher every year especially being a January baby in the north east. I'm coming up to 63. May have to head south.
Happy Birthday and great job. |
