We were a team!! I actually was 1 under after 2 holes while playing with Nick Price. It was a real rush of adrenaline to hit a rocket off the first tee and have 10,000 cheer loudly.....and then birdie the second hole to loud cheers

I used to be a hardcore golfer 23 years ago and would have given anything for an opportunity like that. The only thing I ever managed to do pro wise is watch a local event and get a few autographs.... golfers like Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Fuzzy Zoeller, Paul Azinger, Fred Couples, Raymond Floyd and a few others.

Wow, that must have been fun, what a thrill. Was this a pro-am before a tournament? I'm sure the memory of that event is forever etched in your brain.

I've played in the Senior's Pro Am numerous times----Jay Haas, Tom Kite, Duffy Waldorf, Gil Morgan, Mark James, John Harris, Bruce Summerhays p;us several more that I don't recall off hand. Those are a lot more relaxed and actually a lot more fun than the regular tour Pro Am's........especially given my game is not what it used to be.
Before my very first one in Charlotte, I was descending Mt Mitchell on my bike and had a really bad crash in a curve. I went over the bars, landed on my head, separated my shoulder and cracked some ribs. I barely got myself in good enough shape to swing before the tournament but it was a great motivator to get healed up very quickly. I was hard to work full time, train for doing the Assault on Mt Mitchell and practicing golf to have an A game for the Pro Am but somehow it all worked out.

They all have been a real thrill. We have the PGA tournament in Charlotte every May which is a sell out every years. I've been between the ropes and been in groups with Nick Price, Chad Campbell, Ricky Fowler and JB Holmes. The nice thing about the Wednesday Pro Am in Charlotte is it is just a threesome---the Pro and two Am's.

It's hard to imagine looking at these pictures I've lost 73 lbs, well 18 of those twice, so 55lbs from 269.
Probably 6 of those since the pix were taken during the summer at the Senior Center.

As usual, late to the party. No usable pictures of me with bikes, so here's one of me with dogs.

Not big on 'selfies' so here is one from maybe 10 years ago when I was 56, and another, a couple of years ago, enjoying a pipe ;

Here's a shot of me finishing the Chequamegon Fat 40 this fall in NW Wisconsin. I didn't get coptered off the course, didn't finish DFL, and didn't die. I started mountain biking last year at age 65, so this was a nice little milestone.

Dennis,
That setting looks very much like our beaches here in Pensacola. Nice bikes you both have, there.

Bill, it's North Myrtle Beach, but you are correct as far as looking similar. We've ridden the Gulf coast a few times and we commented several times today that we could easily have been in Destin, Panama City Beach, etc.

I hope you found some safe roads around N Myrtle. I usually stay at Sunset Beach and can ride away from the beach on several rural roads. I haven't found a good area to ride in N Myrtle unless it's just up and down Ocean Blvd.

Taken during the summer -3 generations of us: That's me (obviously!) in the middle, flanked by my son and 21 year old grandson.

For my 70th birthday my wife and I went for a few days of riding in Monterey, Ca. We had spectacular weather for a couple of days and enjoyed riding the roads and bike paths.
