Pearl Izumi

After trying various offerings in shorts and jerseys from several companies,
I'm finding that the Pearl Izumi brand fits me the best.
I see that they offer three basic levels of quality, select, elite, and pro
The price difference between the levels is significant, but I will pay for quality.
The select and elite levels both fit me fine, but I understand the pro may be cut differently,
Anyone have experience finding a different fit for the three levels?

The PI pro fit tends to be "race" which means tighter, very close to the body. Whether you like that is a personal choice.

FWIW, go for the best fit. If the less expensive level fits better the the more expensive stuff, go with it. At the end of a days ride, you'll be happy you did.

This! ^^^

I have three pair of their Attack (Select Level) shorts and find them as comfortable at the end of a century as I do on a short ride with my wife. I don't mind spending the extra money, either, but these work just fine.

I too like the fit of PI and own shorts, jerseys, tights and jackets from them. After checking, found most items were "Select" and a couple jerseys "Elite", nothing in "Pro".

The Select items are pretty basic and a little loose fitting (42" chest, large), I wear PI mostly when commuting and shorter solo rides. If I want something more tight or with that cool factor, I really like Castelli.

I have several different brands and price levels...in all the brands, their race or pro fit jerseys I do not care for, but like the shorts...I prefer my jerseys to have a looser fit both for comfort and the fact that I wear a belly band holster and carry concealed when I ride.

+1 for PI. I just find them to fit best

More panels means more comfort,

Mine have 8, I ride these on my long hot rides :
Pearl Izumi Elite In-R-Cool Cut Shorts

My second pair, for the crazy stuff where I am more likely to crash or damage my shorts I ride the 'Select' level.

Both of these shorts are great,

To me, IMO when gear or clothing or the bike are invisible then they are working perfectly.
I am unaware of these shorts being on me, the select or the Elite's both work fine.
The Elite's are cooler by design, a noticeable difference to me..

As for fit, I like the compression effect on my body, no complaints.

I ride in both the Elite and P.R.O. stuff. The PRO material is a little lighter and cut a bit tighter than the Elite level stuff. I like both, but for my height the Elite bibs have better fitting straps than the PRO bibs. I think the Pro is a bit cooler on warm days, but not a lot. I don't wear their jerseys. I also have some PRO bib tights I got on sale for nothing. They are nice and thick and warm, but there have been only two days all winter on which I felt the need to wear them. All other days have been PI Elite knickers and a jacket.
