New Brake Pads
Going to get my new American Classic Argent Wheels on my road bike and I want to take of them. So, should I replace the 2 year old pads I currently have? If so, is there a pad that is more wheel friendly than the standard?
|
Yes. My current fave is the Swisstop GHP2.
|
Kool Stop Dura 2 dual compound insert is what I use. I'm well pleased with them.

Another vote for KoolStop.

KoolStop Salmon pads are gentle on the rims and good in the wet. I get about 8-10K miles out of a set.
|
Another Kool Stop, dual compound, cartridge fan here.

yep, kool stop for standard wheels
|
Kool Stop Salmon will be the most gentle on rims, and offer exceptional stopping power. Their only downside is a little faster wear. Faster wear is not a deciding factor, because they still last for a lengthy time.
|
KS 'Rim friendly Compound' is their motto.

:thumb::thumb: Kool Stop Salmon's all around on both bikes.:love:

I have some KS Continentals (gray) on my C&V Team Fuji. They look like the old Dia Compe pads and stop like right now.
|
Kool Stop - Some of the best. Also, some people have told me that in central Texas its best to replace the pads more frequently than up north...
Maybe the heat??? |
Another Kool Stop dual-compound fan.

Seeing a trend here?:innocent:
