Any issue matching a bike fit to an existing bike...?

Sorry if this is a rehash. I tried searching a few times and googling til I was seeing the wrong pages under google (like page 4 and up) and had no luck. I'm a bit overweight from lack of exercising on my old road bike and I got a new, cheaper fixie with a flip flop hub which I will be setting up basically as my single speed, coaster bike, getting a rear brake for it and everything but I had a question since it was cheaper and I'm not looking to break the bank.

Can I take all of my measurements from my Giant OCR C3 that was fitted to me by my bike shop 5-7 years ago and apply those to this new Pure Fix cycle? I was just wondering if almost everything could carry over, I would check crank lengths, the stem, and everything else. Only alteration/difference is I'll probably get some bull horn handles with a slight drop instead of drop handles or the traditional bmx style handlebar the bike comes with. The bike is the same medium size as my Giant- that much I made sure of.

Any advice? Or if you know someplace to search, that would work too Thanks!!!

It should transfer over, but there may be enough subtle differences that a perfect copy may be difficult.

If the cranks are 5mm longer, you should lower the seat by 5mm. If they are 5mm shorter, raise the seat by 5mm.

I guess I'm one that would set the seat height (heel on the pedal method), then ride the bike for a week or so and see how it feels, then start making any adjustments based on the actual on bike experience.

Yes & No. You can copy your dimensions & everything should fit the same. The "no" part come into play when you are talking bike handing. Some of the better fitters would prefer to fit you on a machine, then look for the perfect frame for you.

Well, I'm not looking for something perfect at the immediate moment. I'm just looking for something close. They did a lot of checking me out for my other bike, measuring the angle of my legs as they pedal, the distance the stem, arm reach all of that. It's how they determined I needed a different length stem. Most of that stuff I can handle matching. I know the two bikes won't match perfectly, especially with the different handles, but I feel confident enough that I can figure out what's comfortable and will work. Thanks for the input guys.
