Right bike for me????

Hi there looking for advice, I was given for free a 1992 Peugeot Elan 57cm frame, was going to do it up as it needs a bit of work as it's my first road bike. Is it the right size for me though?? I'm 5ft 7in with an inside leg of 29in. I'm totally new to road bikes and don't know alot, it seems ok to ride but is it worth me keeping it or looking for a suitable size if this is not ideal. Thankyou everyone in advance

Count it as Your Learning Bike.

You will learn much about riding and what you want in the next bike.

It is a French Bike.
People talk about a French Fit :thumb:

It is my opinion that if you can sit on the seat and your feet touch the pedals, then you can ride it. It is also good to be able to get off of the seat and straddle the bike, but you don't need much clearance. Tight is just fine.

There may be a "racing" stance which is facilitated by a smaller bike, but it isn't necessary for a casual rider.

How old are you? Under 20? Over 20? Over 50?

The bike is free, right? That is always the best price :thumb:

Hi yes I have to come off the seat at traffic lights to put my foot down lol I'm 32 and just starting out in this. Feels ok to ride as I said justnot too sure about the suicide gear levers on the down bar lol and yes it was free
