What is causing knee pain?

I'm still trying to dial in my new build but when seated in saddle I'm getting pain in tendon connecting top of the knee cap and quads. I used competitive fit calculator as my baseline and frame fits right in the recommended range and I have my saddle height set per the recommended range and fore/aft is set so my saddle to bar reach fits the recommended range. I know all of those are recommendations but where should I tweak my set up to get rid of the knee pain? My cleats are also set to where they feel like the ball of my foot is right on top of the spindle. I'm using yellow Shimano SPD-L which have 6 degrees of float

The rule of thumb is that if soreness is at the front of the knee, raise the saddle several mm. If no change, raise it a bit more.

I like this chart:

Nothing is written in stone, of course, but I've found it very helpful. I like their cleat wedges, too. :thumb:
