Help help I am in pain. :(

I recently got new shoes, and use speedplay zero pedals been on zeros for 3 years now. The shoes fit well but after about 10 miles my toes on my right foot feel squished and the outside of my right foot is tingly by the ball of my foot.
Idk why this is happening. I am thinking that my foot wants to push to the outside of my shoe and my cleat needs to be shimmed, or float needs to be adjusted.

Second is I have some mild knee pain in my left knee on the inside. I am thinking this is due to being off on the new cleat position and getting the float dialed in. If it isn't that what could it be?

I had a pro fit last year and was dialed in without any pain, switched to a new shoe that feels a lot more comfortable, but now I am having those issues.

Never really have had issues like this before.

What is the brand and model of the shoe that's causing pain, and what have you used successfully in the past?

Aha. I've had a similar problem with Specialized shoes. I love the shape, but there's a Body Geometry "feature" that is torture to my feet. That's a built-in varus wedge that raises the inside of the foot. The angle I've heard is 1.5 degrees.

My problem is that I tend to supinate, which is turning my ankles out and walking on the outside edges of my feet. While my feet need to be coaxed into making the big-toe/heel axis do more of the work, the varus wedge does just the opposite.

My suggestions are, first look at your cleat positioning. A pigeon-toed stance and having the cleats too far forward can exaggerate this tendency, too. If that doesn't cut it, look at the shoes. Consider a valgus wedge to counter the built-in varus, or just getting neutral shoes. That would be any brand but Specialized. For a fit like Specialized, look at Shimano's Dynalast shoes. Giro and Bontrager are also roomy in the toe box. Use a supportive insole to prevent pronation, mount the cleats behind the first metatarsal, and don't ride with your heels sticking out. Good luck, and share what you find along the way.

Actually, this means that the shoes do NOT fit well. I agree with oldbobcat about the likely explanation.

Metatarsal Pad - Felt Myfootshop.com I had the same problem and fixed it with metatarsal pads available in pharmacies. Cheap fix that takes only a few minutes. Got that tip from a skiing boot fitter.

Agree about metatarsal pads. Specialized BG, Giro, Bontrager, and Shimano insoles all have them now, in various degrees of thickness and firmness. Or you can get glue-ins. Make sure they stay put though.
