Trekking (Butterfly) Handlebar dimensions (width?)

Hi everyone, this is my first thread and post, forum is really huge.

Here is my question; (and maybe problem)

I have a Merida Crossway 300 bike, and i want to update my handlebar with trekking(butterfly) handlebar. I bought the "Procraft Multi City 25.4 Handlebar", my stem is 31.8 so i also bought 31.8 to 25.4 reducer. It all went perfect for now. But ı am curious about this; is handlebar width fit to my body? Handlebar width is 540 mm and my shoulder 45 or 46 cm. Should i return it and buy a wider handlebar?

Butterfly bars are always wide. They are what they are as they need extra width for the outside curve. I have some Italian made Modolo butterfly bars which are only 50cm wide which is VERY narrow for butterfly bars but these are hard to come by. Don't worry about the width too much. They are what they are.
