Saddle Selection System

I was in the local Performance (bike) Store the other day and notice a saddle-cover like device. The device is used to measure sit bone width... which can really help with saddle selection. And... since I get emails from them... I get a notice about their Saddle Selection System... so it must be new.

They have a YouTube video https://youtu.be/TIC_RNAJUCQ too.

Specialized, Bontrager, and now Giant all have different systems for measuring pelvic width. Knowing your general width and how you sit on the bike are good things to have when selecting a saddle.

I have read about that many times, but haven't seen it. I will have to give it a go to see if it agrees with what I found to work.

Looks like a good idea. Part of the reason I switched to recumbents is that I have found regular saddles to be, just plain, painful. However, next summer I have an activity planned that will have me on an upright for several weeks.

My saddle selection system is to buy 3 saddles at a time from Performance and try them out. If none feel right, return in perfect condition and in original packaging and buy 3 more. Works good.
