Brooks saddle advice
 

Would like your thoughts. Been commuting off and on for 30 years. Never have had a comfortable saddle.

Thinking about a Brooks.

Drop bar conversion full suspension mountain bike, bars are 1 inch lower than the seat.

Me? 200 pounds, 5 foot eight. Athletic build male.

Should I start with the standard b17 or consider one of the other models?

been 225 for many yrs, just got down to 212. best saddle by far, for me, right out of the box is the B17. hands down w/o question. no break-in required. not for my butt. thinking about getting 2 more for my other bikes. got it on my road bike. other 2 bikes are hybrids for gravel and or crushed stone etc. rode them a lot last fall & winter & missed my Brooks so much I almost moved it over to one of them but couldn't decide which one should get it

IDK your hips, that's your bones .. I am fine with the Team Pro, but the B 17 sells well ..

It's impossible to predict what one person will like, but the B17 is more widely liked than the Brooks Pro.

Have test ridden a C17, C15 Slice, B17. Currently own a C17 and Team Pro.
They all seem fine for shorter rides. It's after 50 miles that they feel uncomfortable for me.
I still haven't found a comfy saddle at the 100 mile mark of a charity ride.

Are there shops in your are that have demo/loaner models?

My kid finds the Swift much more comfortable than the B17 (which is what I use, but I have not tried the Swift). If you can try several different ones, it will give you peace of mind. Some people just hate all of them.

The B17 that came standard on the Kona is the best I've found. Please raise or lower the nose for the best riding position.
