Pedal spacers

I have new Shimano Ultegra 8000 SPD-SL pedals (normal not extended 4mm) and would like to experiment with a small adjustment in the axel extension. Would like to know how many spacers or mm extension can be added without affecting the security of the pedal in the threaded crank? Thanks.

I use the +4mm pedals and really like the bigger Q factor.
