You could have a wheel built around the hub. One way to achieve a 3-speed internal hub on your 29er and still have brakes. If you want to use a wheelset off of a typical 3-speed, they're mostly 120mm OLD (and your 29er is likely 135mm), so you'll likely strike out approaching it from that direction.
it came from the manufacturer with a nexus three speed with drum brake on the 29” rear im thinking I’ll just keep the 29” wheels for off roading i plan on building another 700c/maybe gravel wheel with another nexus three speed with disc brake this time. I also plan to mullet this bike with a 27.5 26 or 650b in the front. For esthetics and to move the seat post tube forward. Putting me more near the top of the bb |

I know the difference I’m almost against my will annoyingly aware or the condescension. Or I would had been asked what hubs do I have in my wheels. Maybe they are not sturmey archer wheels tho it’s possible that this item is using the sturmey archer name is bc the set uses a sturmey front hub idk heres the image and reason why I refer to them as sturmeys but ive swapped out the hubs for a dynamo and alfine 8 hub I did try and put them on my 29 in frame but the rear did not have the spacing for the 8 speed so it was a no go. Then soon after I was on the local trail and took a tumble. I bent the fork a tad. Since then I haven’t really been riding that* bike. I’ve been riding the 20” Thank you for answering my question. |

Putting me more near the top of the bb 559 26" is out of the question, gonna drop your front end so much, it'll be the worst ride ever. 27.5 and 650b are the same rim bsd (584) Won't be too bad of a drop, might not notice it much. Sticking with 29" is probably ideal as you won't have another tire size to deal with, can rotate tires front to back, etc. |

A real mullet bike is a smaller wheel in the back, larger wheel up front. 27.5/29
Putting a smaller wheel on the front of a bike that wasn't designed for it will screw up the geometry. Bike will handle like crap. |
