Ok fitting for a kickstand?
1 Attachment(s)
Hello!
Thank you for a great forum. I'm wondering if this kickstand is ok. Can it somehow destroy the frame? It's a double butted frame. Is it best to get something between the kickstand and the frame that protects? |
You should repost in the bicycle mechanics forum.

Thanks. :)

It's a double butted frame without changing the outside diameter , usually applies just to the main tubes . stays tend to be straight gage. taking a regular tube and forming a taper in them thickens the wall .. |
I utilised a similar stand for a number of years calleda Greenfield kickstand
http://www.eurekabrands.com.au/greenfield-kickstands/ which I enjoyed using. When I built my latest bike I could no longer use that type of stand due to my disk brake being mounted in the position inside the seatstay/chainstay triangle. The alternative I chose which I'm over the moon with is a clickstand http://click-stand.com/ Goodluck with your decision |

Its maybe aluminum... Butting is making the tube wall thinner in the center, thicker on the ends

That is a great stand. Will buy one. Thank you for the help. :)
