Quill stems?
2 Attachment(s)
Are quill stems available in different sizes?
I had mine replaced recently to bring the bars up and back a bit and I think they went too far. I can move them down easily enough but I'd like to try a little longer stem. I included pictures of the one I have which seems to work well. I like that you don't have to take the brakes off to remove the handlebars but I don't see any indication of who makes it. Does anyone know where these come from? Thanks http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=374328http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=374329 |
They're easy to find under brand names like Kalloy, Zoom, and Dimension using keywords adjustable+quill+stem. It's a good idea to use an adjustable stem to dial in your fit and they're inexpensive. Make sure the quill and bar-clamp are the correct size for your application. Quill stem risers can be short or tall but all of them require at least 65mm of minimum insertion. I found one made by dimension wich looks just like my picture.
What do you think of those quill stem adaptors which let you use the more common type stem? |

What do you think of those quill stem adaptors which let you use the more common type stem? I think they're fine, I wouldn't hesitate to use one. |
