Surly Frame Switch - Need Help
Hi Forum,
I recently inherited a Surly LHT from a friend and instantly fell in love w the brand. The only problem is I am 5'11" w a 30 in inseam and the bike is 53 cm. Its a great ride but a little tight. Someone is offering a 56cm for $850 but I dont want to get stuck w two bikes that may not fit. Would a 56cm work well? If not am I better buying a new 58 cm frame and swaping the components? Thank you |

I am the same, 5'11" with a 30" inseam. 56cm frame fits me perfect. With geometry today, that would be 56cm top tube length, older frames seat tube, center to center.

That reading the label off your Levi's30" or the max standover crotch to ground measurement?
|
That is going off the Levis measurement. Stopped over at the LBS this weekend and they suggested a longer stem (110mm).
After getting measured at the store they said I would prob be best with a 54cm and that rather then spend the $000s more that I should see if the new stem will help. Fingers crossed! |
