state bike co. frames
 

does anyone know about state bike co. frames?
Im thinking about buying one but Im not sure...
also how is the weight?

I'd also like to know what you guys think about their FGFS series completes.

They've gotten better over the years. I would still take a Mercier Kilo TT or a Windsor the hour over one of the state completes. They're fgfs bikes seem to be behind the times they have about the same specs as a volume thrasher.

There aren't many entry-level complete FGFS bikes. What State is offering doesn't look too bad.

Hey Philasteve. I have the Windsor the Hour frame. The problem is that the track frame geometry makes it difficult (see post below) to have a straight fork which the FGFS bikes usually have. The state bicycle co. frames don't have that problem.

I think the Mercier Kilo TT will have the same issue, as it has similar geometry.

I got flamed for even having the audacity to even post the idea of using the Windsor The Hour frame on the forum.

Are you suggesting using a Windsor The Hour frame for a FGFS bike? If so what type of fork would you use? Do you suggest using a track bike fork?

You should look at eightinch they have complete butcher v2's for $550 really solid. High bb barspin clearance with 45c tires. I would really look into getting one, way more up to date than the state co fgfs bikes.

what do you recommend for a crankset size? Also having a hard time deciding on a sprocket/cog combo. Want to keep up with by buddies on the street but still want to be able to trick a little...nothing crazy though. I just like the feel of these bikes

I ride 165mm crank arms bmx style but if you're planning on bar spinning a lot i'd go 160mm . I really like the combo of 36t upfront and 14 or 15 back, fast enough to keep up with track bikes and good for tricks too.
