New Fixed Gear Rider
Hi everyone, I'm interested in buying my own fixed gear bicycle.
I looked into buying a bicycle and found this : Fuji Track Fixed Gear Bike 2015 I love everything about it, however, I want to know if this is a good bike to begin with. A flip flop hub from what I researched would be nice, so I was also wondering if it is possible to place on on the bike, and how much it usually costs. Thank you, :) |

I just purchased that exact bike. Both sides of rear hub are threaded for flip flop and I have installed a 16t freewheel cog on one side. It's not a light bike, weighs a bit more than my steel road bike set up with 9 speed ultegra. Seems like a good quality frame, the paint work is nice. I'm guessing the components are on the cheap side but they work and I don't expect much at this price point. I got mine through performance on a triple points weekend and had it shipped to the store for free which made for a pretty good deal.

Compared with the Wall Mart Thruster fixie . it's better than that .

Hi guys, I ride fixie, spd/ crank pedals, on the roads, between cars, fast, in North London. I do not have front brake, and obviously, neither rear one. Advice -> Be aware...as you build up strength on your legs and master control of your "horse" you gain confidence, you get "spiritually" connected, all get to be good! but chain tensioners can fail, chains can snap or come off and you might not be able to stop as you you'd wish to. I am not suggesting you to put brakes but just to be always conscious and more aware of that "things that can happen". Nathan
