Hah! Love it. But I'm all stocked up bud. When I was recovering from surgery one way to pass the time was to build wheels. And with the kids, I'm not putting on nearly as many miles as before.

I find it hard to believe that you can't put a 130mm hub in a 135mm OLD frame.

So I looked at Captain Bike's pages and he writes that you shouldn't cold set an aluminum frame to accommodate a different hub width. Based on my one experience cold setting a frame -- it was astonishing how far I had to spread the 120 dropouts so they set at 126 -- I would not do it to an aluminum frame. But just wedging the hub in there is a lot different.

Nope. At the prices that Dan's Comp sells their spokes, I'd just buy them new. I've never had a problem with their service.

From memory, $0.40 for double butted spokes with nipples.

I'm just an amateur; but a few bike shop buds have given me the thumbs up on my wheels. In short, I'm patient and methodical. Given that, it's pretty hard to go wrong if you're building standard 2, 3, and 4X wheels.

Would you please PM your email address, I don't have enough posts, if you are willing to accept another order to build custom wheels? Thanks a lot in advance.

Oh ... I'm not really a wheel builder. Nowadays I spend my free time riding around with the kiddies. So my time would be expensive.

You'd do much better by going to an LBS with a good reputation.

Alright, thanks for your help I bought a disent rear wheel for my bike especially for the price.
20" 1 75 2 25 Silver 36 H Shimano Deore Rear Casset Bike Wheel QR Axle Hub New | eBay

Instead of a 7 speed cassette and a spacer I bought 8 speed one which according to my research should
work with a 7 speed shifter.

Shimano CS HG51 11 32 8 Speed Mountain Bike Cassette | eBay

I wish you all the best.

Wheels laced four cross for superior strength.....
where does that come from ? even on the picture you can see how the spoke bends where it leaves the nipple ...
Sapim poleax nips help as they tend to rotate in the direction of the spoke rather than just pointing straight outwards, but when 4 cross, even in some cases 3 cross.... in 20 inch wheels, with short spokes .... the bend will break the nip or the spoke

Will the wheel be able to last a few months? There are no options on the market except custom wheels for 20 times the price. Any suggestions please? Thanks.

I think you'll be fine. Use wide tires, a reasonable tire pressure, and avoid doing the crazy stuff and they should last a while. You might want to check spoke tension after a few rides.

Alright, it was tough with a fancy locknut and then adjusting the derailleur but after a test ride of my Nova I think I did a good job. With a new cassette which is 11-32 8 speed but I use it as 11-28 7 speed compare to the original 14-28 I can ride my bike much faster and there is a bit larger difference between the speeds. I'm really happy how the upgrade turned out.
Thanks again guys for your help. I wish you all the best.

For my front wheel I went to a BMX reputable retailer to build a wheel which will have to match with my rear wheel. The wheels won't look the same but very close. Below are the links of the parts which are ones of the toughest in the BMX world. Also, every part is polished.

As soon as I will get the front wheel installed I will post a picture.

After the upgrade with the new wheels and Jagwire break pads the bike became very sweet.
