8 Attachment(s)
This bike was donated to our all-volunteer charity. We will sell it to help pay our expenses. Again this year we will hit the 2500+ bikes given away to the needy. Check out our web site rcommunitybikes.net.
We recently received this Montague MT-1000 folding bike. Montague was kind enough to send us the latch mechanism. Thanks Montague! It's an early model The wheels may not be original since the fork has a 90mm wheel in 100mm dropouts. We have no idea of value. I'm posting here and in the "What's it worth?" section. Any help with evaluation would be appreciated. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=492079http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=492072http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=492073http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=492074http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=492075http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=492076http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=492077http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=492078 |
used bikes sell quickly if not overpriced , but wealthy areas that price will be higher than remote low income towns
I'll guess $200 .. general well used MTB price .. |
I recon about 70 pounds. Maybe more. But its not a sort after bike. They are underated imo.
Expecting CQG to chime in any minute...... |
Bhkyte is correct, it is a very underrated bike, very capable and robust but heavy. The weight is probably a factor of the components. Your bike has been retrofitted with V brakes which will be a big improvement on the Dia-compe cantilever brakes it had originally. The groupset is ok, the crank is SR Sake ovaltech which is original and has some value to people who like oval chainrings. I can not give you an idea of value on the US market because I an in the UK. I own a Rudge Bi-frame which is exactly the same bike but marketed in the UK under the Rudge brand. I paid £50, they often sell for between £50 and £80 here in the UK. I have owned other full size folding bikes but the Montague/Rudge has been the best so far and the most compact when folded.
