BFPR? No, my taste, my poison are classic mini velos, that is, those with traditional geometry consisting of rear triangle and front parallelograms conjoined by the seat-tube.
As for the custom build project, I am looking at mostly Shimano 105 with a tall (58T or above) chainring. I've already sourced a 58T TA Specialites ring, but I am holding out for the possibility of getting my hands on a 62T. The wheelset, also already sourced, is a Wheelsport Super 451, white. Tires, already sourced, are Panaracer Minits Lite PT 7/8" and/or 1 1/8".

Hmmm. I wasn't aware you could buy just the bare frames. Do you mind PMing me with a link? I like the full triangle look as well.

So, when do you think the build will be completed? I can't WAIT to see the end result,...

nice build, senpai.
yeah, the saddle is wrong. it seems anachronistic and bulky as well. aesthetically, something like a fizik arione or similar would be more appropriate (and no doubt kinder to your booty).

Coming along strong! I'd certainly like to get a Dahon triangle framed bike eventually, but it won't be half as nice as yours.

Bikes: This list got too long: several ‘bents, an urban utility e-bike, and a dahon D7 that my daughter has absconded with.

The thread says, "folding," I don't see the fold.

The Dahon Dash Altena, among other Dahons, uses a Lockjaw hinge on the top and down tubes to fold. It's not the quickest or smallest of folds, but it does allow for a classic, triangulate frame geometry which aids in rigidity, and if you're into that kind of thing, the aesthetics of the bike. This is what a folded Dash Altena looks like:

It does look good. Too bad it is so hard to get the frames.

the dahon, however, with it's aluminum frame and CNC'd this and that, the ice-blue silver powder coat and shimano 105... this bike is ultraman, cintaku. in fact, the saddle you need for this bike is right here. the tioga spyder with carbon rails. mmm yes. imagine the imprint this saddle will leave on your butt after riding to Ubud and back. when she sees your bare booty, your wife will think you've been hanging out in kuta again...

It's a shame the Dahon Dash isn't available in North America anymore. It was sold for a while but discontinued.
There are very few options for minivelo style bikes here. I only know one company (bikesdirect) that sells a minivelo in the US and they only have one model.
