Indeed, in other KS projects pre-orders were delivered before backers and sometimes retailer orders were also delivered before all backers receive their product.

This is what seems to happen with the Vellobike+ : the creator showed lots of packed bike ready for shipping but no backer seem to have received any of those bikes while shops have at least demo Vellobike+. So there is a great chance that the creator preferred to
deliver the first manufactured bikes to retailers to grow their business than to backers.

Update is out. Lots of progress on manufacturing - pictures of frames and components at some volume - but there have been further delays on some parts. Next update 2 weeks from now.

Does "some volume" mean a couple dozen frames or possibly several dozen to more than a hundred frames?

Latest update

There has been a lengthy update indeed. Including photos of a number of finished swing arms, which are said to be the hardest part to make. They discuss finishing and some production schedule.
But what I find most interesting about this update, is that for the first time, since I have been following these updates at least, they actually utter out loud a conviction that delivery of the bicycle is feasible and imminent. this is unlike their usual style.

Avner.

I don't think this guy is being dishonest or unscrupulous. I see an overly optimistic guy with good intentions who just got in a little over his head. They'll deliver eventually, and all of us spectators will be damned jealous when they do.

Jealous?? I'll be glad all these people got bikes. I'm not jealous of anyone involved in this stupid fiasco.

Helix got customer funds up front, so that was not an issue.

Overall, I expect the bike to be very nice, however I do not expect it to arrive anytime soon.

Thanks,

Im new to the folding bikes threads so had to do a google https://www.helix.ca/

Whoa... it's been three months since I last posted in this thread. I see there are still updates, but no actual product yet.

This saga is epic. They will sing songs of Helix in Valhalla until the final days of Ragnarok.

Welcome back, thread founder. Happy 2.25 Year Anniversary. Not one backer nor pre-order customer has received shipment of a Helix bike yet. The update pictures continue to appear as progress.

Years ago there was a bit on my local talk radio between the host and program director about plans for the station. "Meetings are being held and plans are under discussion. Notes are being taken and I'll let you know if anything comes up." There's your update.

3 weeks and still no update, but I suppose Peter could write something to give us a quick situation update before the weekend is out. Kind of a bummer there hasn't been any news for a week after when the update was due. I hope things are OK and it's nothing more than some components are still delayed and Peter just feels embarrassed that he keeps saying they will arrive and then don't. He probably should just stop saying when components he has no control over are going to arrive with such certainty. Anyway, hopefully we'll get some news soon.
