BodyFloat vs. Thudbuster
Just wondering if anyone is using a Body Float ? How about anyone that's had a Thudbuster and is now using a BodyFloat?
I ordered a TB for my Mini Cooper and while I was in a bike shop looking for a sprung seat till I get the TB I was introduced to the BodyFloat. Twice the price of TB tho looks a bit nicer (maybe a bit less noticeable). I'm not even sure it can be adapted to the 33.9 seatpost measurement as I haven't inquired about that tho just thought I'd ask here. |

Tamer Pivot Plus is cheaper than either and occasionally can be had for as little as $25-40 on Ebay.

here's a pretty decent overview of a few suspension seatposts, the tamer included. the canyon vcls 2 is pure sex but i think the thudbuster is still the best bet for 33.9mm. http://www.pezcyclingnews.com/photos...canyonpost.jpg |
I like the Thudbuster ST with softer than recommended elastomer rather than LT. LT is overkill for road cycling and the path of travel is a bit weird.

great replies! Thanx! The Canyon vcls 2 looks very sleek .. guess I'll check the TB out and see how it goes. Am pretty sure the bike store owner ordered the ST for me ...

One advantage of the LT is the option mixing of Elastomer densities , and the pre-load screw passing thru the stack.
I have 1 of each .. ST on my diamond frame horizontal top tube, trekking bike .. LT on my Bike Friday.. |
I have the long travel thudbuster in a telescopic seatpost to get it to fit my birdie and mezzos. I love it.
Got it for about 120£ on ebay after postage about the same as the pivot. Cant see any of the pivots for any less than the TB on ebay at moment but will look out for them in future. Most of the family make a beeline for the birdie with TB on family rides. |
