Thanks for the link..

Having done a few e-bike conversions, couple of things come to mind with that system.. The TSR-2 becomes a TSR-1 ... so you have to hope that you can ride a single speed, especially when the battery is dying and you have to overcome the drag of a regenerative hub motor .. having everything in a single big hub is pretty limiting.. battery capacity will be compromised, and heat dissipation with motor/controller/battery in an enclosed space will be a factor.. it's a cool concept, but pretty proprietary for day in, day out real world usage.. a TSR is a great platform for e-assist on small wheels due to the suspension, long wheelbase, and general excellent handling characteristics ..

I like the front hub motor ARCC E2 system much better .. it'll have multiple gearing options, increased range, and plug and play battery options with commercially available, easy to source batteries.. I may do an e- Moulton later in the year .. couple of other ebikes ahead of it..

I hadn't seen the ARCC before...it's nice. I prefer front hubs but I do find the all-in-one concept interesting.

That's an interesting concept and especially the ability to charge the battery while pedalling.

At the moment I'm evaluating the ARCC system which I had retro-fitted to my TSR27. I'm impressed by the smooth and seamless feed-in of the E-assist and the inclinator fitted in the pod which with the A+ intelligent mode automatically feeds more power when climbing hills. The "Launch" boost which gives a three second boost when taking off from a stand-still is very useful as well but mainly I'm intent on working out the range when using the various assist levels.

What interested me most was the use of the Bosch standard 36V 4AH battery as this means I can carry a spare or even two as a fail-safe and a means of increasing range. Certainly the fact the the TSR27 has a wide gear range must be a help in obtaining the maximum range when using the system and also makes it easier to pedal the bike without the Assist.

It's a very expensive system and only time will tell whether the cost is justified.
