Yes, is sticks out, and it looks ugly, especially when the bike is not carrying a load there.
However, I tend to roll my folders a lot too -- when going into buildings, or stations, or trains -- with just the frame folded in half, and the saddle post and handlebars still up. And then that same truss suddenly is not so stupid anymore, because I do not have to remove any luggage attached to it either then. And there seems to be no other way to do this. Some times we ride to the graveyard and bring flowers to plant there and sometimes also soil- it is nice to use a basket or similar to avoid getting soil in our bags but we use a steel Brompton frame with a plastic softdrink crate ziptied to it for that. We have got four bikes with a Brompton lugageblock. |
I own this thingy too, for mounting on the block but I found it is low. Not many bags fit this far down:
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/luggage/...razed-on-lugs/ I have put a Brompton luggage block on my Dahon Curve for now and want a Caddy on the stem and another clickfix thingy on the seatpost. I always found luggage to be tricky on the Curve. This thingy is new and cool, could be used on some of the cheaper non Dahon/Tern bikes for light luggage: Rixen & Kaul, KLICKfix Adaptersysteme Fahrradzubehör, Solingen, Taschen, Körbe, Werkzeug |
