Rust Brompton
How do you remedy to rusting parts on a brompton frame, specifically on the hinges under the clamps ?

Since under the clamps is a friction area I don't think you can do anything easy to cure the problem.
You'd have to ceramic hardcoat the whole frame to potentially rid the problem. I applied cheap rust converter on the interior of my mainframe but I doubt that would stay on the clamp surfaces. |

Can have a nice patina look about it. Lots of stuff you can use to give a surface coating to it or use one of the simple rust converters which change the rust's properties to prevent further corrosion. Light surface rust is no big deal. I realise its an expensive bike and its nice to always have it looking immaculate but really just enjoy the bike.

its the part under the hinge clamp, want a secure solid clamp, performance, or perfect paint?

I mix three antirust products: ACF-50, LPS3 and Boeshield T9. The mixture works much better than each product separately. I ride in winter and I used to park outside so I had a chance to get good statistics. I apply this mixture to any potentially corroding metal surface, chain, frame interior, hinges, bolts, scratches in the paint etc. (some alu too). The mixture basically takes care of the corrosion so you can concentrate on other things in life (provisions for another planet and alike ;)). On the chain you need to reapply the mixture every 3 months. In other places the reapplication needs to be only incidental. Even around the hinge area of a steel kickstand, the coverage remains pretty much put. Regarding the component ratio, I put a bit less of ACF-50 than of other, as it is the most expensive and its action is chemical rather than physical - the fact there is a bit less of it does not seem detrimental.
