Mod Mu Uno with Jetstream handlepost

I'm thinking of changing the handlepost on my Mu Uno to the lower one Thor has for a Jetstream. I prefer the way the bike looks and I'm only 5-3 so the ride is too upright for me.

Looks pretty easy to do. I just don't know what size tool I need to get the compression nut out. It's not a size I have. Anyone know what I need?

I did the same thing awhile back. For your height it should be just fine. For me, it was a big no-no. I'm 5'11", and it was too low for me. It was a really aggressive riding position though. All it takes is a few allen keys, and a little bit of grease.

As for sizing, I THINK it was a 14mm,...maybe. I lost the specific allen key, so I'm not 100% sure.

Here's a tutorial that's on point.

Thanks. Certainly is easy enough to do. I'm going to ride the bike a few more times before I decide. I don't want to spend almost a hundred dollars on making the same mistake. Unless maybe you still have it and want to make a few bucks back on it...

The inside handlebar fold with your Uno will be lost, if that makes a difference to you.. the Jetstream post folds to the outside, and hence, the folded package is considerably wider.

We should have discussed this earlier,...LOL!!! I'll check to see if I still have it (most likely I do, as I'm the ONLY person who has folding bikes that I know). I'll contact you later today and fill you in.

OK,....deal done!!! It's yours!!! LOL!!!

Yes thanks Iíve read that it folds outside. Thatís not a big issue for me as I donít travel with my bikes often and where I store it has enough room for the outside fold.

I do appreciate your pointing that out though!

Oh and it’s a 10mm that fits the nut. Picked a cheap set up at Home Depot because I didn’t have that size. So I’m all set!
