Every Stable needs a bike that this niche fills. A light relatively small, simple bike that can quickly be deployed AND stored. It appears to be well constructed and nicely appointed.
The non-adjustable handlebar height, and uprightish riding position would NOT be a major issue for me considering the design concept, for a short distance bike, to be used in the city (slicks and 3 speed). It looks like it would be light and fast.

Having NOT owned his type of folding mechanism, I would defer to those with experience on the strength of the frame fold. I am not a fan of the frame graphics.

Pounce or Pass? Ha Ha...That is a personal decision for YOU. If you must have an answer POUNCE (assuming favorable pricing). I want to see how it rides in comparison to current bikes I own in the niche.

I would then be compelled to make a decision and sell a bike to reduce the overlap in duties and unnecessary clutter.

Would you want a 3-speed?

Good points...FSIRs are light. This one is well under 20lbs. A reason i am looking at another FSIR is because I've been impressed with a bigger FSIR, a 406er, that i already own, and this one is quite interesting...

Good question. We are building a home in 'the city' where it's flat. This pony would be good there.

Beautiful bike. Looks like it has the little extra wheelbase i would need on my Spin2.0 to forget about the center of gravity for a moment. Must be very hard to resist since you know the qualities of this folding already :D In my opinion the IGH does'nt match the uncompromising lightweight design and i never saw a 3.0 with those sliding dropouts before. Worth the price...

I am on the fence due to the following factors:

• 3-speed IGH only,
• Already have enough bikes
• Price a bit high.
• 305/355 frame waiting in the shed

For the asking price of the FSIR i can trick out this FnHon frame...

Of course i would not be in the this present predicament had i just bought this one when i had the chance last year. Same thing, but RD drivetrain, and disks for about $460 (THB13, 800).

Decisions, decisions...

The FNHON custom option most likely would make me reconsider,...I'd personally go 8 or 11 speed IGH. But, for a frame only option, the FSIR is a wonderful possibility of a great IGH build. 3 speed? No,...

Thought about it, but the issues of an IGH on the FnHon Gust are that the steel frame is not light so adding an IGH (plus a nice Brooks saddle) would turn it into a real porker. Also, i've got no way of sourcing locally rims and spokes of quality and correct length to build the wheelset. Finally, it's got vertical dropouts. RD drivetrain is the way to go with the Gust.

Nice bike, but I would Pass due to my experience with my Crius Smart 3.0 (also 3 speed Shimano IGH) and a Java X2 (Sram Automatix 2sp)
I just don't really like the inefficiency of the IGH and the noise it makes.

To be fair, both bikes are highly portable especially the Crius, really a joy to bring around, but I suspect that I would not miss a thing if it was a single speed and at least it would be less noisy and draggy with those China 3sp derailleurs.

Yeah, you're right. In any case, the bike is gone so it's all moot now...
