Tern bike concerns

Hi all, i just purchased a seconed hand tern d8 , i think its from 2016.

The bike is flawless.

BUT recently a friend asked about the purchase “arent thos the ones that break?, good luck”

not knowing what he Meant i went to the forums and was shocked!

what is the likelihood of this happining to my bike? Is there a way ensure my bike isnt infected by serial code or somthing? Is there a way knowing before it snappes on me?

Ugh

am i doomed? :,(

Should i stop riding it? its a shame ,i really love this bike.

Can a Tern dealer repair your bike under the recall warranty?

From the United States Consumer Protection Agency https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2016/st...lding-bicycles.

This one doesn't include your bike. Don't worry about your bike or the hype and misinformation that is propagated on the internet around Tern bikes.

Enjoy your bike. If you want piece of mind contact Tern and ask.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you so much for the help guys. appreciate it, really.

Im having another issue tho

The little rubber ring on the body latch hinge fell off, and now its "eating" on the body hinge...I now its not so clear , I can add a picture if you guys don't get it.

where can I buy such a rubber ring? also it seems I have to dismount the whole mechanism, is that problematic? I can't find any tutorials online...

thnx in advance

Go to ThorUSA.com and contact them. Thor, or one of the other reps, will be able to help you get a part or 3.
