Velo Orange minivelo

Fat BMX tires and disc brakes among other features.
Seems a great rugged bike for air travel and commuting.

I would do the bike up with a flat bar & IGH hub. Very nice,...

Very nice!

I, too, am glad to see a quality minivelo offered in the USA. However, I think having a V-brake option would be good, since those wheels are 20 inches and the brakes would pick up more grit etc than a 700c wheel. A Brompton style bag mount on the head tube would be great. If there were a way to use the wheel QRs to attach to the frame so as to make it easy to pickup when the wheels were off, this would aid in portability. The write up doesn't address the wheel base but I would hope for something over 1000 mm so that a variet y of bars could be used without an extra long stem. Bars such as moustache, bullhorns, drops and porteur style bars would be a nice option. I also think going with V-brakes and the Brompton bag mount would potentially save some money in completing the frame.

I too would want a rim brake option. And try to find an new old stock Sram Dual Drive for the back wheel.

Here is a crazy idea, they said they want to make it for airplane travel. Add couplers to take the frame apart. Without couplers I suspect they will have trouble getting it into a 62 inch (L + W + H) case.

NB, Sturmey Archer, continues making the hybrid 3 speed IGH/cassette hubs ..

like searching for discontinued products?

German Sachs was making a 3 by 7 (and the 3 by 2 for Brompton) ,
when Sram did their Buyout/take over
and moved the production machinery to Taiwan..

Room for 2.3" tires with fenders - holy cow indeed. Big Apples would be awesome.

That's fine as frog's hair.

Just found this similar frameset by Bourne. I've never heard of this company. How they sell a $900 frameset with only 2 photos is a mystery. They had some complete builds but sold out.
