Newby to Bromptons

I'm new to folding bikes. I'm recovering from bilateral below the knee amputations, and am riding a borrowed Brompton 5 speed from the late 90's (with a dynamo) I'm thinking I'd like to get one, but I don't know much of anything about the evolution of the Brompton. What's different about one that's 20 years old versus 10 years old? Not seeing very many of them showing up on Ebay, every now and then on Craigslist, but none on the marketplace here. Looking for recommendations and education I guess.

(If I missed some basic stuff in previous message, please forgive me)

welcome to folding bike foruns!
the major brompton improve from 5 speed model is rear frame locking mecanism.
the frame no long fold itself while lift the bike(i.e. when lift throgh a staircase).

wish you a good recovery in this reabilitation process.

best from rio de janeiro, brazil

When you buy a new Brompton, you have the option of customizing it. I would go to the customization site and figure out what you might want from the bike. That might impact your decision what you might want to do in the market.

In my limited info, no major changes since first few versions.

Most improvements can be adopted aftermarket.

That being said, the new "brompton b75" looks like a bargain compared to used. The price is in the same area, but it's a brand new bike.

Brompton's biggest advantage is the fold, and front luggage system.
