new folding bike very hard to fold/unfold, can I grease where it folds?

I have a new folding ebike. I can hardly get it to unfold or fold back. How do I make this easier? Some type of grease in a very small amount, just to loosen it up so I don't injure myself with the damn thing. It sure doesn't look like the commercials and no matter how strong the people in those commercials are, their folding ebikes can't be as stiff as mine. Any advice is appreciated.

Have you talked to the place you purchased it?

Yes, as the previous respondent said, you should most definitely contact the seller.

This situation that you can not fold it is rather VERY unusual to say the least.

By any chance can you post some pictures and or precise descriptions of the bike in question?

I agree that you should contact the seller. At the same time lubing the hinge area and moving it as much as possible really fast should solve the issue. Fast motion will create some heat which will allow the lube to penetrate better.

Hopefully it works out.

That's what I was thinking. Call seller tomorrow and lube the hinge area while moving it as much as possible to work it in all around the hinge. Thanks.
