To save people a click: The rear swingarm is now curved. The Front fork has a diamond cross section instead of rectangular.

Also :
Smaller folded size This BIRDY 3rd generation folds 15% smaller than before! The new chain tensioner now comes standard and ensures perfect chain position when the bike is folded.

Optimized geometry Optimized head tube angle and lower BB height provides increased stability & responsive feedback similar to a road racing bike.

When did Pacific Cycles last upgrade the Birdy design?

Is there a way to tell if a Birdy bike is the newest design, with the specs listed in that article, so as to avoid ordering the previous design?

Wikipedia says the mk3 was July 2015 but you could check the main Birdy thread for confirmation around that time.

As far as I know, nobody in the US has stock so you shouldn't have an issue. I, for example, got mine through bfold and last time I was in David said he could order one via airmail but wasn't stocking them. For confirmation of a mk4 (I guess it's mk4?) from pictures on the web, look at the rear swingarm (between the rear wheel and the elastomer in the side view), the new one is slightly curved while older ones are straight.
