Handlebar Improvement to Dahon Mu SL?

I'm setting up a like new 2006 Mu SL for my wife. Is a handle post available for my bike that is made to mount a normal 1-1/8 stem? This must have been solved already somewhere and I'm late to the game. Thanks.

Thor USA sells the replacement stem, it's not cheap. Google Thor USA. I have the standard Dahon stem on my Mu. None of them take an Ahead stem. An Ahead strem would preclude the ability to rotate the bars in order to fold the bike.

The only circumstances I can foresee selling her are if (1) the Brompton B75 really does have a stem that arches less so the reach is shorter, (2) I'm able to ride the B75 comfortably because the stem decreases the reach enough for my very short arms, (3) we get another stimulus check and (4) bike thieft stops. I can envision 1-3 happening but not #4 . So that means I will keep my Dahon because it's down to 20.7 lbs and I can lift it, I'm okay with locking it up on the street (unlike my BF pakiT) and if someone steals it, I'm only out the $250 I paid for it. Sorry........

Pretty much any street in an urban city.
"Beater" bikes exist for a reason - you know they will eventually be taken, just a matter of how long they last.
I'll be sad when someone takes my Mu Uno (but maybe being single speed it will last longer) and I'll have to spend time finding
a suitable replacement (low-cost used, able to make it lightweight with the parts I have on hand). But that is my Mu's purpose in
life - to be tethered in public in situations where I can't take my bike inside with me so the BF stays at home.
