Folders for rent in NYC?

I'm thinking about buying a folder for commuting. It'd be a 15-20 mile trip (each way) with some big hills, and I'm a heavier rider. I don't think a typcial test ride will be adequate. Anyone know where I can rent a Dahon or other mid to high-mid end folder for a couple days to really get to know it?

A well designed folding bike won't limit you any more than a non-folder. I think you'll find most shops will let you take the bike for an afternoon test-ride if you're serious about buying (they'll know if you've done your homework .

Make a short list of models you think would suit you and do your research on the net.
Bromptons are the UK's folding sweetheart but more difficult to come by in North America. Try a KHS - I'm told they ride similarly for half the price and they're a US company with wide distribution here.
