Leader Voyageur 3-speed Folders Found...
A neighbour put these old 3-speed folding bikes out on his front lawn with a sign that said, "FREE".
Obviously stored indoors for the past 40 plus years.
Dusty but not rusty and the Shimano 3-speed is very crisp.
Good (original) tires and the chromed rims very close to perfect: no wobbles, blips or dings.
Actually not bad for what they are.... about 30 pounds of decent fun from circa 1978.
The frame was made by ESGE in Germany, and the drive parts were made in Japan by Shimano and Sugino.

Late to this thread!
Those have to be the most awesome FREE folders I have seen! You scored mighty! Be sure and relube everything before putting miles on them.
one bit of note, ESGE did not make frames. They fabricated components like kickstand or hardware for brazing to frames.
Would love to to see how you use these machines for your travels.

Actually, it appears that ESGE possibly did make the frames.
The bikes both have a steel cross member welded to the seat stays, under the saddle where the rear brake calliper and Pletscher rack bolts on at the top, that is stamped, "ESGE - Made in Germany".

The big question is: what are you going to do with these?
Classic resto or Resto mod?
