Folding bike for air travel as well as light trail use?
I'm brand new to the folding bike world and need some suggestions.
I would like to find a bike that folds small enough to check as baggage on airlines, would be comfortable on the roads and also hold up to light trail riding (small, sharp rocks/sand/drop offs of less than 4")
im 5'6", 125 lbs. I plan on road rides of up to 100k. Trail rides of less than 25k. I would like to keep my budget under $1,500
I'm so confused when I look at all the brands and models out there. Can you give me some suggestions?
Thank you!

Bike Friday Pocket Llama. I just got one for about $1500 equipped with a Shimano 1 X 9 drivetrain, folding stem and seatpost. It's comfortable on the road, will certainly hold up to light trail riding (it's designed for that) and can be packed in a suitcase and checked as baggage.

BikeFriday comes in various sizes , their Travel Bikes have 20" wheels
Their Tikit uses the 349 16 " wheel Like Brompton
Brompton folds smaller their 6 by 1 drive train is good for lots of terrain. 44, 50 0r 54t chainring.
Brompton is made in 1 size. well since the steering mast has 4 options , I Suppose thats a Size Adjustment..
H for tall, S for sporty posture , or short folks , P And M the other 2
5'9" Im OK with my M model.
I then Got a Pocket Llama , Disc Brakes a PNW wet weather benefit,
but it reads like you go to Az in the winter anyhow.

I personally ride a Dahon Mu SL with a pair of Big Apples. Just came back from a long weekend trip with it. Just love it with the Big Apples. Comfy, cushy, does gravel and roads no problem.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I have found 2 bikes stores in Seattle that carry the suggested brands, so it looks like a weekend trip to do some test riding will happen soon!

I have a Tern D8, just got it a couple of months ago. will fit a suit case but I had to take off the wheels and rack. I took off the derailleur as a precaution. It rode very well, I don't think that it is recommended for trail use though.
