Panniers for Downtube
 

Hi Everyone,

Could those with Downtube folders recommend panniers that would work for carrying groceries? I'm looking for panniers and want to make sure that I order ones that will fit correctly. Some of the ones I was looking at on Ebay this morning look like they would drag on the ground.

Which version of Downtube you have FS or non-suspended? I have the FS with a seat post mounted rack and I've had no issues. I have the Trek grocery bag panniers and another brand's grocery pannier with no issues.

There is suspension on the front, but not on the back.

For the FS model there are only two choices a standard rack pack such as http://www.jandd.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=FRRPII , however check out http://www.jandd.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=FMW3-AD this things opens up much bigger than in the pictures on jandd's site. Any pannier will get into the rear wheel on the FS model, hence that is not an option.

The front suspension should accept most panniers. I am sending Jandd a front suspension bike this week, they will put all their bags on the bike and snap pics for us. I will post once I get them.
