They have some new models and have gone with the dual-drive on the Jetstream XP...

Lot of interesting stuff there. I wouldn't assume that all of those models will be available in the US or UK, though.

The established models look pretty much the same. I was hoping to see some more ideas creep in like further improvements to stem adjustability and stiffness throughout the range - not just the high end models and the end of the SDG I-beam saddles/seatposts which aren't really up to the quality of brookes saddles and selle italia.

I always liked the dual drive hub and it should be great on the jetstream XL.

I spotted some interesting racks (both front and rear) on the 'S.O.S' model.

I'm slightly disapointed in they choose to make the Curve a 3 speed instead of a 5 speed.

The Curve-D3 is 3 speed but the Curve-SL is still 5 speed if you scroll down on that page.

I know it's not likely, but I would be very interested in the Smoothhound if it came to the US. A more appealing version of their minibike than the Hammerhead.

I love my 2006 Mu SL, but the hinge creaks no matter how hard you tighten it. They need to dump the hinge and tuck the wheels under like a Birdy.

You're right, my mistake!

I hope they include a chain guard and rear rack and it would be a tremendous value. There would be no need to buy the Piccolo or Presto Lite at all. Sure, the rear rack would throw off the asthetics of the "Curve" but some commuters will keep it on regardless. I wish my Presto was using the five speed, it's a solid product.

That creak may not be coming from the hinge, esp. if you've tightened the bolt. Maybe check the seatpost/seatpost area? (e.g. riding your bike out of the saddle, can you hear the creak? If you bounce up and down on your seat, do you get a constant creak? etc.)



Curve? I wish Dahon would bring over the Impulse instead and replace the Boardwalk. Cromo, of course.

The bike that stands out the most is the Grove with disk brakes, rear suspension and patented front suspension system. If anyone remembers, Dahon displayed this technology several years ago but I figured they scraped the whole idea. They also came out with a 16' inch wheel bicycle using this front suspension system but that bike is yet to come out. I hope we see one for 2008.

The Tailwind looks like a very heavy eBike. I hope it isn't the Roo EL replacement. Incredibly ugly!

I suspect value-engineering of the hinges on the 2007 Cadenza. Dahon has the Interlock Joint Technology of the Fuego, but instead of applying that to the Cadenza, a new overhapping-halves hinge is introduced. Aluminum is famous for fatigue-induced fractures, which the overlapping halves seem to invite. Time will tell. The two new hinges are probably cheaper to manufacture than the old maintube hinge.
