Birdy from Black Dog

There was a posting from tartare about a Birdy from Black Dog, that once repatriated to Germany, was found to have parts put together, instead of original parts.

Did anyone else have this problem? I am considering getting a foldable, possibly a Birdy.

Just to add, I went to Bfold in New York with a friend who picked up a Brommie and the guy there told me confirmed that this was Blackdog's reputation.

Again - great service from the guy and at the end of the day, I still paid less that retail so not a complaint, just a buyer beware thing. Honestly, I was too stupid to notice when I got it.

I'm sure if you address it with him up front, he'll be extra careful.

I'm also in discussion with the C.M. Wasson company, just don't know their reputation yet.

That's the trouble with "remote" purchase... I would have hassles if the bike arrives with problems.

They have been around a long time. Mainly as a Brompton dealer.

I bought a Pacific Reach from Black Dog and had zero problems and would buy from him again. If you are worried then give Don a call.

He seemed like a good guy to me and worked with me to put a package together for me that had the bik e and some spare parts (mostly tires and tubes).

Give him a chance.

Black Dog

I have only ordered parts from him. However, he is very knowledgeable and was very helpful.
