Folding pedals - reasonably priced

I would like to buy a set of reasonably priced folding pedals for my swift. I don't ride hard and long distances but want these for packing. I'd like to find some that won't collapse but don't need $200 ones. I do not use riding shoes.

For packing, I'd say the MKS quick-release pedals are the best. Good selection, grip, and versatility in that you can add things like toe clips or Powergrips.

For commuting and less hassle, these are cheap and solid, but reports are that they get slick in wet weather. I've never used them in wet weather and don't plan to but I think it's a good warning.

Got a pair of these for no money at all on Ebay. Although the ad says Raleigh, they are branded "Stomp". My last pair lasted for about 9 months of hard riding before wear on the bearings meant they needed replacing, but they are cheap enough to not worry about using as a consumeable, grip reasonably well and fold very neatly. Not sure if/where they are sold in the states, but would expect that they could be tracked down without too much bother.

I think those were the ones that came stock on my dahon. They broke on my ride home from the store. I bought MKS quick release pedals. I have not been happy with the MKS pedals. Unless I use toe clips they don't feel very secure on my feet. Also, it seems the little easy-to-loose black plastic clips are absolutely critical to keep the hose coupler from working its way over and letting your pedal go skidding on the asphalt. If I had to do it over, I would just use standard pedals and take a wrench when I travel.

I've got the mks pedals with powergrips on them, and never have put in the safety clips. No problems, and they feel really good. I just hope they'll last a while as these are not cheap beasts.
