Anyone hear of a HON Convertible?

I was given a old Hon Convertible 16" wheels 3 speed and all stainless steel and investment cast
Pretty heavy for a folder but I guess it was marketed to Boaters.
It has a folding crank arrangement that is a little weird. That is broken and needs welding.
But I have the equipment so that should be easy.
Anyway, Anyone heard of this?

very first gen of Dahons.... Mr Hon is Dahons owner and founder and he called the bikes HON until an office furniture place sued him for usung "their" name so he switched the bikes to DAHON .. He could have won the outcome but didnt had the time or money to fight the gigantic company and pay lawyers over years ....

now back to the bike....
The ss version will be the first collector bikes made by Dahon.... not quite as collectble as a raleigh 20 yet.. but give it 5 years and they will start an get higher prices.... so hang on to it...

Yes it looks unique The folding crank was snapped off. The reweld went very well.
It looks like the former owner was pretty heavy as the ring gear was bent some and
it keeps chucking the chain. At least it will never rust!

I gave up on the folding crank as i snapped it off again. I had a sugino double crankset
and a square BB lying around the shop so I removed the small ring and bolted it up.
PERFECT replacement and its even the same gear size up front! I didnt even have to adjust the
chain!
Its going to go with me to europe next week......
