Just a few weeks ago I was thinking to myself, man, every time I need to know something about my bike, my searching inevitably leads to Sheldon Brown whether I looked him up specifically or not. What will the world be like, for a curious, novice cyclist such as myself, if this one-man, specialized encyclopedia of wisdom was silenced? I guess now I will find out.

I will think of him as I ride home today.
