I don't know, but from the look of it I believe the pictured prototype is a chain drive with a nondrive side idler/guide (if it were a belt drive then why would they bother enclosing it?). However, there are pics of another version of the prototype at the show that appears to be a shaft drive.

Although I don't see any shifters, my wish is that the enclosed chain drive would come to market with a multispeed internal hub.

Mark Sanders Integrated Folding looks promising too. I guess he
tries to take on the challenge from those who say that small wheels
are too small. The picture, is it possible to see what dimension those
wheels are? Could it be 28" or is it a smaller bike? The one with three
spokes are that not a shaft Drive?

I looked via google for the ECR folder but I am bad at search, could not find it.

I do not remember, however I will look through my catalogs to try to get the info.

FYI the ECR bike is only nice in its final configuration. It was amazingly clumsy and awkward to get it into the folded position. In short I don't think you'd like it as much as you think.

Yan, that could very well be as you say. what looks good when I see a picture
could be not so practical when one sit on it. I hope the IF thing Pacific has is
as good as they say. The problem is that the market for folders are so small
that they could take a long time before they reach us.

Velovision think the name of the bike is Pro Walker but nothing on their site indicate they have it.

J88 has a similar folding tech where both wheels allow it to behave like a trolley.

Mark Sanders' Integrated Folding seems to be a very good design.
But it is surprising that Ming Cycles first owned it and then sold the rights
to Pacific Cycles.

They had a booth. They nearly tripped or dropped the bike every time they tried folding the bike. The final position was great but getting there was comically clumsy.

Interesting.

It seems like the folders coming out of China are focused toward the highend. The next generation of folders are going to be faster and less focused on utility. The difference in wheel sizes shows they no longer are limited to the 16', 20' inch diameter anymore. This is all good news.

Thanks, the extra comments provide good insight.

Coupla things I didn't notice before: The Speed One bike in front has an oval seat tube - must be very stiff.

Re the mini bikes, I find myself wondering what their point is, especially the one with 16" wheels.

I agree with your thoughts. The argument I hear is that they have a smaller footprint than a regular bike and it is intended for those that don't need a folding bike. Even after the explanation I don't get it.
