Hyde Park Meet July 6th, London

First call for the second meeting of the Hyde Park Folding Bicycle Society in Hyde Park London, on Sunday 6th July at about ten-thirty. Some of the founding life members will be here in a moment to confirm the time and place, and berate me for being ill last time.

All welcome. It helps to bring a bicycle, although this doesn't appear to be compulsory. There may be buns and pootling, or an all out grudge match between 'George Dawes' - Snafu's Downtube IX FS with Orange Paint, that hasn't actually arrived yet, and 'Black Bart' - Mulleady's hopped-up side-winding dang-nasty mother-biting racing model, with black paint and funny gears.

See ya there for the shoot-out, hipsters, anti-biotics permitting. No swimming. May contain traces of nuts.

I'll need my shades if there's an orange bike lol!

It might need a dip in the Serpentine to break it in nicely

What exactly is a 'trace of a nut?'

Is it an 'impression of a loony'

Look forwards to seeing you all there. Could you make sure your TP146's are properly signed at the bottom of page 14, to avoid having to go through scrutineering again? I know paperwork is a pain, but we all have to do it.

Thanks.

I've gone on holiday by accident. Sunbathing by the THames in Berkshire watching the river flow.

My dad told me the other day that my Great-grandfather held (still holds?) the speed record for riding a penny-farthing between Cheltenham and Gloucester in something like 1905. How cool is that?

Are we meeting regardless of the forecat weather? Rain or shine, no fairweather friends amongst the foldernisti?

QE gate again? Snafu might even have her tangoed Downtube FS by then!

Would any of you be on for a ride along the Regent's park canal route after tea in HP and a circuit around there? Suggestions welcome.

I have taken a VOW OF SILENCE to atone for going on holiday so will be communicating with gestures only. No Downtube, so I've unearthed a SECRET FOLDING WEAPON for Sunday. It's a sort of metallic green.

Well, OK, I'm happy to make it the following weekend. ( The Downtube got lost in delivery, so I cancelled. I got the Matrix out instead.

That's unfortunate I wanted to see the orange one! Why didn't you opt for another one to be sent out? I can vouch the FS has a great frame Snafu.

Hi, is this sunday on or not, I'm confused. The weather has been fine in london today, bit of a sprinkle this morning, but sunny from mid-morning on. The roads in hyde park are closed to cars this weekend, so it will be a cycling paradise. Next sunday, 13 July is the london bikeathon, which is half of the reason i went out today looking for a bike to buy and by the merest fluke came upon a lightly used Mezzo 9 speed at a reasonably price. The other half of the reason was to be at queen elizabeth gates at 10.30 tomorrow !!! Well, whatever, I'll be there tomorrow, getting some miles in and trying to work out how to stop the seat post slipping down.
