What folding bike for a younger adult female?

My Daughter likes cycling, but wants to be able to lock the bike in her Ford Focus Sedan. She lives in Chicago, so hills are non-existent. She is athletic, so performance is a priority.

What lighter folding bike should she look at?

Michael

Is this a surprise gift or can you actually take her around to shops to test ride? If you can take her to shops to test ride there are a couple in Chicago that sell folding bikes. Rapid Transit in Wicker Park is the one most often mentioned, but Boulevard Bikes and a few others sell some too.

If it's a surprise gift, then we'll need to know your budget.

p.s. I wish my dad was buying me a new bike.

It's not a suprise, I'll take her to Rapid Transit.

Thanks,

Michael

The Focus has a decent sized trunk, any 20" folder should fit.
