Newest acquisition....R20 non folding.

Just bought a very nice R20 non folder for my wife, and the colour is one I've not seen before...Magenta. It comes with a rear dynamo hub, all lights working well, front and rear racks, a 3 speed grip shifter and a white Brooks saddle. The original 451 wheels might be swapped out for set of modern 406 rims with a SA 8 spd hub that are sitting in the shed. All in all a great little find for $100au.

Also, the guy I bought the R20 off had an orange/red BSA 20 non folding in even better condition, (nigh on perfect), that he wants to sell. Maybe Jur might have a friend in Melbourne that is interested?

Anyone else?

Stevegor post and nobody answer, Stevegor wonders why?

Little naughty red imp on Stevegor's left shoulder say " Cos they don't want you to play no more"

Sweet angelic being on Stevegor's right shoulder say "Ohhh, don't think like that, they do, they do, it's just..."

Naughty little red imp rudely interrupts, " Just what?? No, you can't play no more Stevegor, you no liked no more"

Sweet angelic being says timidly, " Maybe you shouldn't have posted that very naughty and scary, "Goodbye my folder friends" thread, Stevegor.....maybe you should apologise..."

Little red imp gets very angry and hisses " NO way, just go back to the Road cycling forum and get abused by patendcad and botto, you know how you love those biting comments"

Sweet angelic being sighs and whispers " The folder folk are a kind, gentle and forgiving lot, just say sorry and they will welcome you back"

Stevegor goes on blissfully ignorant of the titanic battle that is raging either side of his stupid empty head and hums a pointless and offbeat tune about nothing in particular......

Oh yeah, just in case anyone was offended by that old post.....sorry.

Don't worry, we still love you! It's just that you committed the cardinal sin of posting about a new bike, without any pictures! Teasing us with talk of magenta, and yet denying us any sight of it! It's plain rude, now apologise like a good boy and show us the pictures!

I just wrote four sentences in a row finishing with exclamation marks! I really must stop it, it makes me look like a fool!

"Stevegor promises to be good and will sit quietly on the edge of the inner sanctum of wise folder masters as they speak of mystique tales and forbidden adventures of folding bikes. He will sit quietly and learn and speak rarely. He now knows his place. He will also learn how to take picture of MAGENTA R20 and try to work to out how to post it here......thank you and goodbye."

Sweet angelic being, on his right shoulder.

BTW,
I have removed the original 451 steel rims from the magenta R20 and have installed the newer 451 Velocity rims with a SA 8 spd hub from the Wasp which receives new 406 8 spd rims.

451 Velocity rims... what did you pay for those? I may switch to 451s on the Swift for gearing reasons.

Now, the last sentence is a real sin! Please Lord, forgive him because he does not know what he is doing and one day he will be back whipping and we will have to comfort him!

Sorry Stevegor for hijacking your thread, we still love you and we were very sorry that you left for some time and all that, but you know? rbrian was right, a terrible sin about "...of posting about a new bike, without any pictures!..."

OK jUR,

I think I've told you this before?, but anyway, my LBS has 1 set of 36h Velocity 451 and 1 set of Sun? 28h 451, I think the price for each set was $90 -100au, I will check to see and let you know if I can bargain them down, give me a few days.

Why not use a Schlumpff on the Swift for a better gear range?

Stevegor

First, you'll need a digital camera, or even a mobile phone camera, and some means of getting the pictures from said camera onto your computer, with a USB cable, card reader, or even bluetooth. Assuming you manage this, to post a picture here, there are two basic methods:

1. Just under the reply box, click "Go Advanced", then click the paperclip symbol. Find the picture on your computer, upload.

2. Sign up for a free account with a photosharing website such as Photobucket or Flickr (many others are available) and follow their instructions for posting thumbnails or even whole pictures.

Hi Stevegor - missed this post till now. ANOTHER twenty? Lucky bike!
I had a magenta one for a few weeks when I did mine that was destined to become a parts donor, but in the end wasn't needed so went on to a new home to another 20 fan; Here's pictures next to the Bismarck for those that have never seen the true beauty of a purple Twenny...

LittlePixel,

The Magenta R20 is an appeasement gift to my dearest for pulling apart, (and leaving it that way) her nice brown R20.......(a secret plan by Stevegor to get a frame for his R24 project )

I find this magenta R20 simply spell bounding....in fact, I can be found in my shed at strange hours, simply gazing at it.
Must be related to how my wifey wears purple to set off her alluring green eyes...makes Stevegor go all silly.

Nearly done with subtle mods.....Alu 451 rims, SA 8 spd hub and Avid levers, just need hand grips and decent brake pads.
This will make Magenta R20 look close to original, but nicer to ride.

Will post pics soon.
