Dahon Speed P8 Tours Ie Shima Island Japan

Sorry to the Okinawa guys who hang out here who will realize that Shima and Island are redundant.

Took the wife and kid for a couple day getaway at the Resort Hotel on Ie Shima and packed my Dahon Speed P8.

Probably only one connection I can make regarding Ie Shima for most of the readers here. Ie Shima is the island where famed WW II war correspondent Ernie Pyle was killed by sniper fire. Almost immediately a monument was constructed.

Anyway, here's my Fred'd out Speed P8 replete with big Topeak trunk bag and coffee cup (God I love that coffee cup holder).

First shot is at the Ernie Pyle memorial and second shot is at a site called "Lilly Fields". Just what it sounds like. Big public park landscaped with lots and lots of Lilly's.

Pulled two rides around the island. One on Friday. One on Saturday. Couple hours each. Good times. Good times.

John

Nice shots! Looks like the lilies aren't in bloom yet, so we'll postpone our trip for a bit.
We've got a 60km group ride tomorrow around Yanbaru that I'm really looking forward to so
I can test out my Swift that just got a new set off 451's & Durano's. I'll try to post up a pic or two of the ride.

Maybe I'll pass you coming or going. Weather permitting I'll probably ride my MASI road bike down to Bridgestone in Haebaru tomorrow morning.

Rotten blog I threw up of my ride on the link.
