What do you like better about the Singlenator? I've got a Rohloff tensioner on my Surly Big Dummy and like it quite a lot - very well made.
Generally speaking I wouldn't use a single pulley tensioner like the Singlenator in push down mode as it doesn't give you as much chain wrap on the rear cog. This will result in slipping when you start to wear the drivetrain. The Rohloff double pulley tensioner is much better in this regard.
If you use the Singlenator in push up mode you get lots of chain wrap just like the Rohloff tensioner and a much lower profile drivetrain. However, you need to loosen the tensioner to get the rear wheel off.

vik I think I don t understand, you also have it on your Bike Friday, and remember I asked to you?so how long you think will last how many km,with the rohloff tensioner I need to change the chainand the sprocket wheel every 3500km
It s not posible (the singlenator)to put it like in your bike the ares not place it s touching the frame, thas the reason I put it the other way

It's not life or death...if you are happy and it's working just ride your bike. I'm just geeking out here....
BTW - I jealous of your NWT - love the Rohloff...

hmm, It does seem like gdlerner has less space to run his tensioner in push up mode.... I wonder why this is? optical illusion? or a difference in the Rohloff dropouts (OEM)? Perhaps it is just an older model NWT with some differences in geometry? does the singleatorcome in more than one size/lenght?

No, a 23t cog on a Rohloff would screw up the gear ratio. Although maybe this could be fixed by choosing an appropriate chainring? Don't know if it's possible to fit a 23t cog to a Rohloff though.
