[WTA] installing Shimano Capreo Hub+Sprocket into Dahon Mu P8
 

Hi All,
as the title, I would like to know whether Shimano Capreo Hub+Sprocket can be installed into Dahon Mu P8.
Is there any one has done it? Is there any problem with spacing?

Dahon rear spacing is 130cm.

Personally I would not go for Capreo solution as a front 53T or 56T chainring provides high enough gearing, imho.

I'm quite sure it will go in. I'm sure my Mu P8 is 135mm, and Dahon themselves sell a capreo model: the Mu C9. Just pay attention to the spoke count.

If you're looking for higher gears, I'd suggest just getting a chainring. It'll be much much cheaper.

@pilbach: Mu P8 comes with 52 chainring. I need more gear inch.

@ joseff: at my place here, it is difficult to find chainring bigger than 52 for Sugino.
If it exists, the price will be much higher than capreo sprocket+hub.

there is this 58T on fleabay...

they also have a 54, 55T 130BCD chainring, which should work.

The Sugino XD crankset on my Mu Uno is 110BCD .. I would imagine the OP's Mu P8 is also 110BCD .. could be wrong.. Here's a 58T in a 110BCD

interesting... 110BCD doesn't make much sense for small wheeled bikes... but I guess they use that.

According to this thread, the crank set is single piece and a chain ring upgrade might be not an option then.

Read further down, OP says it's replaceable.
